history so far

Wales Management Council was established in 1995 with the aim of being an employer-led body whose mission was to help managers in Wales to lead and manage successfully. It aimed to inspire, motivate and drive change in the perception, delivery, take-up and funding of management and leadership development in Wales.

Its mission was to champion the case for better management and leadership performance across all sectors in Wales.

Through various means the Council set about spreading good practice and stimulate new thinking that helped Welsh businesses to become more competitive. Its work was well regarded by employers and it had a good reputation in both business and policy making circles. In 2009, the Council re-evaluated its core aims and objectives, took the decision to continue to operate on a purely self-funded, commercial basis, and in 2010 is preparing to engage with businesses on a different platform. This is a new and exciting time for the Council, and we look forward to working with our Members to build and grow in the direction that they demand.
